Dear parents, carers and pupils,
The Derbyshire local authority are asking each school to follow the DFE advice regarding the coronvirus. There is a link to the DFE website and other information on the front page of our website and in the coronavirus tab on the top right of the front page. The DFE website is updated daily at 2PM.
We will keep you all updated using the text system and the website. Please be assured that the safety of our pupils and staff is of paramount importance and we are following advice and taking all precautions.
School will remain open unless we are instructed to close by the department of health or the government issues a closure notice. There is likely to be significant disruption in the coming months and we will do everything in our power to minimise the impact on our pupils. In the event of staff shortages, we will use all of our resources to keep school running normally. If the school closes, we are looking into a number of contingency plans, which will all be based around our website and ensuring work and activities are provided.
- Please follow the advice on the website.
- Notify school if anyone who has had contact with pupils or staff in school has a confirmed case of coronvirus.
- If any pupil or family member displays any of the symptoms (a high temperature, 37.8 degrees and above, a new continuous cough), please self-isolate for the recommended 7 days. All absences related to the coronavirus will be authorised.
- I am advising that any parent with a pupil with underlying health conditions do not attend school and this will be authorised.
This is going to be a disruptive time for our community and we are fully committed to supporting our pupils, families and staff in any way we can. A strong sense of family is one of our core values, please support each other in the coming months and please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or queries.
Kind regards
Mr Woodward
