Thank you for considering Whitfield St James’ Nursery for your child.
Our Nursery is in a modern purpose built early years building. This new building provides attractive and inspiring areas for teaching and learning.
We offer funded 15 and 30 hours childcare for children age 3+. Children are eligible to start our setting in the term immediately after their third birthday. We aim to be flexible and arrangements can be made to pay for extra sessions for families only eligible for the 15 hours. Wraparound childcare can be provided by our onsite Before and After School Club “The Orchard” from 7.30am until 6pm at £2.25 per half hour.
We aim to make learning fun and encourage children to become independent, make choices and become confident self-motivated learners. We have a dedicated and motivated early years team who work hard to achieve the very best for every child and to ensure that the children feel happy, safe and secure. We recognise and value the support parents provide as important partners in their children’s education and provide many opportunities for parental involvement. We invite parents into school and have themed activity days and weeks throughout the year where parents can join in with activities and see what fun we have! Sharing progress is an ongoing partnership between home and nursery.
Outdoor play forms an important part of our day. Children have access to the outdoors, so that they can decide if and when they want to be outside. Children use the outdoor environment all year round so we ask that children dress appropriately for the weather!
On Friday mornings during term time we welcome parents and toddlers into the building for a ‘Toddler Group Session’ which runs from 9 – 10.15am. This has provided a fantastic transition process for our new starters and has been a great way of integrating with our local community. New families join us every week so why not pop along and see what we have to offer?
