Living with Covid from 01/04/2022 DFE Guidance

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your patience while waiting for new guidance regarding testing and isolating with
COVID-19. The updated guidance from the DFE which comes into effect from 1st April 2022 advises:

  • Adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel
unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well
enough to resume normal activities and they no longer have a high temperature
  • Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home
and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when
they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend
  • Adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with
other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious.
  • For children and young people aged 18 and under with a positive test, the advice is 3 days.

Please use your judgement; if your child feels unwell with a respiratory infection and a
high temperature, or feels generally unwell, keep them at home until they feel well and no longer
have a high temperature. If your child is confirmed with COVID-19 the isolation period is now three
days.

Please continue to help us by following the new guidance, which should help reduce opportunities for COVID-19 to spread.

Mr Woodward
