Bell Beaker Culture

We would have loved to invite you into class but unfortunately, owing to lockdown restrictions, we are unable to do so. Instead, we would like to welcome you to our Waterlily Class Bell Beaker pottery online exhibition!

From 2500 – 1500 BC ‘Bell Beaker Culture’ arrived in Britain. Sometimes shortened to ‘Beaker Culture’ these were  a group of immigrants named for their distinctive decorative pottery. The pottery had bands filled with impressions made from shells, combs or cord. We hope you enjoy looking at the clay pots we made and decorated. We made thumb pots and coils, using slip to join them, then decorated them with repeating patterns.
